Nom Wah Tea Parlor

Nom Wah Tea Parlor is a great restaurant if you want Dim Sum. At night they don't have the carts but still the food. It is a Great place to try. Dim Sum makes you full so don't get too much. My favorite dishes are pork shumai, shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice dumpling, and house special dumpling.  I think Nom Wah Tea Parlor is a great place~Tasha Kit

Nom Wah Tea Parlor makes great Dim Sum. It's also a very interesting looking place - kind of a cross between a Chinese restaurant and a 1950s diner. It's on a cute tiny little side street. Although it's Dim Sum, some of the dishes are actually pretty big. So you have to be careful not to order too much.  My favorites are the salt and pepper pork ribs, the house special dumpling and the Chinese greens with Oyster Sauce. The steamed pork bun is also really good.

I really liked Nom Wah. It has a great variety of options and several vegetarian ones as well. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the shrimp rice rolls and and scallion and chive rice rolls. The service was fast and the staff is nice. Also, it has nice selection of beer and wines. You should go there. It is the perfect Chinese comfort food kind of place. ~Momma Kit.

New Kam Man Market

New Kam Man Market downstairs is a great, inexpensive place to get all your Chinese groceries. They have frozen food, Ducks, quail eggs, Tea, Desserts, and more. It is a great store to go to.  They also have a cafe counter store if you are hungry. Stay tuned for the counter restaurant~Tasha Kit

The best thing downstairs is the cooked food counter. You can order a roast duck and the chef will take it down from a hook in the window, chop it up and pack it for you to take home. The duck is delicious, with the most amazing crispy skin. For $10 you get a whole duck, which will probably last you for three meals. They also have all kinds of strange, intriguing snacks, like spicy squid jerky and lorcandied baby crabs. Very fun to explore. ~Daddy Kit

I like the market. They have some very unusual things.  This time, I bought some shrimp toast, ginger milk tea, and grape hard candies. It is really fun to see everything and explore. If you are adventurous and like to try new things, this market is for you. ~ Momma Kit

Mini Cake Stand

On the corner of Mulberry street and Canal street there is a small stand for mini cakes. Mini cakes are like small hollow waffles that taste really great. They are not too sweet but still sweet.  It is $1 for 15 (Now they cost $1.25 for 15) mini cakes which is all you need if you just had a big meal (like me) :)
They open at around lunch and stay open to at least 6:00 but probably later.
I hope you enjoy~Tasha Kit

We love mini cakes. The perfect dessert after a big meal because they are light and airy and not too sweet. Also, they cost only $1 per order. ~Daddy Kit

New Kam Man Upstairs

New Kam Mam is great store with a great market downstairs but today we will focus on the upstairs.
The upstairs is a kawaii dreamland and makeup wonderland. It is full of Squishies and Hello Kitty and all her friends' merchandise, and also Rilakkuma and friends' merchandise, and all the Kawaii you can think of. It is a great store with very reasonable prices and I would highly recommend it. ~Tasha Kit

If you go to New Kam Mam with your daughter because you want to go to the grocery on the ground floor, you will probably spend time upstairs too. Upstairs has 1 million things which your daughter will love and which the father will find boring. For example, my daughter loves the Squishies. There is also Asian Makeup. If you buy your daughter stuff upstairs she will hang out with you at the market.
~ Daddy Kit

Stay tuned for downstairs
